Adobe India MD to resign by March end; to start a new venture

Dr. Naresh Gupta MD, Adobe India has put in his papers after working with the company for nearly two decades. According to Times of India, he will start his own venture in financial markets.

Naresh who is also heading the company’s global print and publishing business, will be leaving at the end of the March. Adobe hasn’t yet announced as to who’ll succeed Naresh.

“Naresh Gupta has played a key role in shaping Adobe’s technology and global business strategy and has built a world-class R&D operation in India,” said Adobe, CEO, Shantanu Narayan in a statement.

Dr. Naresh is a computer scientist in Adobe’s corporate research group and has conducted research in the area of image processing and understanding. This work led to five technology patents, which became some of the key features in Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe products.

The R&D operations in India comprise more than 3,000 employees across two cites, Bengaluru and Noida, and contributes to engineering across all of Adobe’s businesses.

On his exit from the company, Dr. Naresh said, “Leaving Adobe has been the toughest decision of my life; the company is growing and is going through the strongest period I’ve seen in my career here. However, I am excited to pursue my passion for entrepreneurship in financial markets.”
