“We met a lot of International Broadcasters, Co Producers and Distributors at MipTV who haveshown interest in Purple Turtle.”

Purple Turtle started as Imprint of Aadarsh Children Books in 2006. In 2011 October 3 books of Purple Turtle Character and his friends were released at Frankfurt Book Fair and looking at the response the team set a target and delivered 100 books towards the end of 2012.

Within 2.5 years time span, around 150 titles of Purple Turtle are published and has made its mark and position in around 20 countries with USA, UK and South Africa. “Success of Purple Turtle has influenced us to now turn into an appealing animated series.”

“I believe the success of Purple Turtle, is because the stories are very entertaining and engaging. The illustrations are done with great detailing and are made to have a very International appeal.”

Most of the Stories of Purple Turtle books are written by Gail Skroback Hennessy of USA, who is an experienced author and has writing background for National Geographic.

Purple Turtle Animated series will pick stories from the book itself and AnimationXpress learnt that the pilot episode has been created by Trivandrum’s Toonz Animation. Angus Fletcher from the UK has helped Aadarash for animation direction of this pilot, script is written by Emmy Award Winner Jymn Magon, Inter Music Emmy Award Winner Music Studio was hired from LA to create the music.

Not only adapting from the book, but Aadarsh believes in communicating with audiences to know their animation tastes, “We have been sure to speak to parents and children and take their feedback and suggestions for the animated series.”

While Aadarsh continues its research and further planning for making the series as one of the prime time attractions, they are planning to reach audiences through merchandise like the Plush and Bags of Purple Turtle, soon set to hit the market.

And Purple Turtle will continue to enthrall audiences internationally with their Licensing agents from all parts of the world, Las Vegas Licensing Expo that happens in June, MIP Junior and MIPCOM in October, Brand Licensing Expo and lastly this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair edition
