Mumbai Film and Comic Con Oct 20-21: Final Book Launches

Comic Con India is launching over 10 titles at the Mumbai film and Comic Convention. These title include spiritual, religious, powerful, funny as well as science fiction stories. So all the comic fans, who are ready to delve in the world of graphics, be there to witness these launches and grab a copy.


1. Title- Angry Maushi
Created, Illustrated & Written By: Abhijeet KiniThe synopsis: The comic digs into the origins of the character, and tells the violent tale of how a frustrated middle class woman can overcome social evils, zombies and robots to achieve her ultimate goal – SAVING MUMBAI!

 

2. Title-  Beast Legion
Created By: Jazyl Homavazir
The Synopsis:  Beast Legion (www.thebeastlegion.com), India’s first award winning manga styled web series is back with Volume 2, comprising of issues 5-8 of the epic fantasy adventure. Follow Xeus as he faces his inner demons after his loss to Dragos & continues on his adventure. For the first time, issue 8 will be released in print as it is updated online. There will also be special little treat which will be revealed for those who buy the set at the Convention. The Synopsis: The first installment of the Mumbai Confidential series is a one-shot OGN titled GOOD COP, BAD COP and is about the Encounter Specialist cops of Mumbai Police, who were given the nod by the establishment to carry out extra-judicial killings of gangsters.MC is an attempt by the creators to capture some of their fondest memories of gritty crime / pulp novels and movies that are a staple of bollywood as evidenced by the works of Ram Gopal Verma and Anurag Kashyap.
It is inspired by the Hong Kong crime flicks of John Woo and Johnnie To as well as seminal crime-noir comics like Frank Miller’s Sin City, Ed Brubaker’s Criminal, Brian Azarello’s 100 BULLETS and Greg Rucka’s Gotham Central

 

6.  Title- Retrogade 2

“Indian Comics Journal – A Periodical by Comic Con India”

It is a periodical about comic, books, comic strips, graphic novels, & in fact anything & everything about the Indian comics industry. The journal covers the happenings of the comic world, profiles of established & new writers & artists, reviews on latest publications & reports about every ‘comical’ development that gets caught in their radar.

The 1st issue of ICJ was launched at the 2nd Comic Con India in Feb 2012 and the 2nd issue was launched at the Comic Con Express Bangalore in September 2012.

The 3rd issue of ICJ will be unveiled by author & artist Abid Surti, through a special preview of the cover story of the upcoming issue on 20th October, 2012, at the Mumbai Film and Comic Convention.
