Pixion
acquires two international studios |

| Mumbai-based
post production biggie Pixion has acquired two London studios, Men-from-Mars and
Molinare for an undisclosed amount. Collectively both the two studios will add
200 people to Pixion’s workforce. Speaking
to AnimationXpress.com, Pixion CEO Naresh Malik shared the strategy behind
the acquisition, "We had plans for expanding to other markets and incorporating
best practices and standards into our workflow. The acquisition of these studios
will also help us in increasing the quality level of our local work and creating
a front end for our large team." After
completion of the acquisition, Pixion has plans to integrate the India and UK
businesses. At the same time, the studio is planning further expansion, both in
India and overseas. Men-from-Mars
has more than 35 feature films and over 25 broadcast productions to its credit
and has a talented pool of creatives, VFX supervisors, producers and technical
support. Molinare is one of the leading post production studios in London and
has work across all story genres and distribution formats. On
a concluding note, Malik said, "Our plan is to stay in the post production
domain and cover or improve all aspects of this business."
Pixion has facilities in Mumbai, Noida and Chennai. The Chennai
facility has 50,000 sq feet of prime space, seats for around
1000 artists and does VFX, animation and post production work.
