is spread over 15,000 square feet and three floors.
Blur's channel partners include

USP of Blur is the fact that it is run by gamers who understand
the gaming experience and it is probably the first ever multi-platform
gaming zone in India with all kinds of games on various platforms,"
Blur (Gaming & Retail) head Bhavesh Shah told AnimationXpress.com.
The café features various
platforms from PC to hand-helds like Sony PSP and Nintendo
DS Lite, to consoles like Playstation 2, Nintendo Wii, Xbox
360 and Playstation 3. The café also boasts of a an
entire floor dedicated to arcade games - both vintage and
high-end, a two-lane bowling alley, a gaming store and a restaurant.
"Blur has been a great
achievement by all of the team involved to take things from
vision to concept and finally to reality. Blur will set the
benchmark for gaming not only in Chennai but in other parts
of India, we are sure there will be broad appeal to many market
segments and something for everyone,” said Sathyam Cinemas
Chief Operating Officer Tan Ngaronga.
”We have focused on family
entertainment which includes different gaming concepts and
great food. We hope everyone supports the concept and are
sure people will be wowed by the concept,” Ngaronga added.
Avid gamers will also lap up
gaming vests from TN games, which simulate bullet impact with
the help of air-pumps, adding a whole new dimension to the
gamer's first-person-shooter experience. For console gaming,
Blur has gaming chairs from Pyramat, featuring built-in speakers
and subwoofer to enhance the aural experience.
A host of events have been
planned at Blur in the near future, including tournaments,
game launches, gaming parties, theme weeks and industry interactions.
Microsoft Xbox 360 launched Gears of War 2 at Blur. "With
Blur, we're looking at changing the perspective on entertainment
in the country and especially Chennai. Gaming, without a doubt
is the next big thing. The opening of Blur just got a lot
more special as we get to launch one of the biggest games
of the year - Gears of War 2," Shah concluded.
