Dux Soft has launched its latest
product for digital asset management called Digital Resource
Enterprise Asset Manager (DREAM).
DREAM is an integrated application for cataloguing, storing
and managing digital assets. It is a web-based tool with mass
uploading capability and mechanism for search, retrieval and
viewing of digital assets within a referenced framework –
that can run on top of any back-end storage or data base.
It has plug-play capabilities with SPARX and INFINITE as a
sub-module. It also has authentication process with ADS and/or
LDAP, with hierarchical access structure that can help multi-location
organizations to have identical asset management and versioning.
Dux Soft CEO Amit Srivastava
told AnimationXpress.com, "DREAM is an
ease-of-use product with easy index and searching of digital
assets based on reference sets. It provides exceptional value
to studios and institutes alike - as it provides them a one
stop interface to tag, index and retrieve different types
of digital assets - props, movies, scenes, models, etc. It
provides a quick and fast alternative to more cumbersome and
expensive solutions in the market today. The tool is already
deployed at Trine Entertainment."
“This product is to facilitate
the studios and institutes to formalize assets and save time
in tracing them, safeguard them and to make the retrieval
process automated," added Dux Soft Head of Pipeline Technology
Amir Shahinsha.
DREAM can support real-time capture of digital assets, enabling
faculty members, production heads, administrators and students
to ingest, catalogue and re-purpose campus/studio experience
into rich media learning objects. It can be used to improve
course delivery by integrating rich media content into course
management system, improving the quality and relevance of
on-campus and off-campus learning.
It can be used to improve administrative
process in areas that routinely use rich media and helps to
maintain smooth functioning of workflow and production pipeline.
"DREAM works just like
a web browser. The existing assets in the storage can be exported
to the application, with its information and then it can be
traced immediately when ever needed, through a powerful and
accurate keyword search mechanism. Future assets can be added
directly in the application with no worries about indexing,"
Amir informed.
Regarding the USP of DREAM,
he said, "DREAM helps in centralizing the studio's complete
requirement in one area. It reduces the time taken identify,
store and retrieve the assets and information. In short, it
channelizes all the information in such a way that it becomes
easier for the whole studio to function quickly and efficiently."
Along with the product, the
studios and institutes would also automatically receive updates
for every module within a year, depending on the purchase
agreement, with 24X7 services available online.
Regarding their plans for future
products, Amir revealed, "We are looking at making DREAM
part of a larger module called INFINITE, which would provide
complete automation including production management, production
tracking as well as asset management even for applications."
