2nz
Animation, a Climb Media company, recently executed about five minutes
of 2D animation sequences for Yash Raj Films Thoda Pyaar Thoda
Magic (TPTM). A team of 15 animators, 10 compositors and 20
colour artists from 2nz have worked on the same. The team was led
by 2nz' Creative Director Tehzeeb Khurana, Arun Mane (Technical
Director), Prashant Shikare (Animation Director) and Namrata Vankudre
(Line Producer) and it took about six weeks for the execution of
the two sequences in the movie.
2nz
began exploring and ideating on the project with Kunal Kohli Production
from September 2007 and was involved right from the concept development
to the final execution, under the animation direction of Tehzeeb
Khurana. Tehzeeb said, “Working on TPTM was a fun experience for
the entire animation team. The artists went to sketch the actors
live to create the cute caricatures that you see on screen. Even
the animated rooms in the film were designed as per the original
film sets maintaining the pop art style. ”

their relationship with Kunal Kohli productions, 2nz Production
Head Aman Kwatra told AnimationXpress.com, “Kunal
Kohli was particularly impressed with the work done by Toon Club,
the Kids animation division of our award-winning parent company
Climb Media. He wanted to keep the child-like feel throughout the
film, and thus briefed us to make the animation from the eyes of
children seen in the film. Eventually all characters were represented
as emoticons in the film.”
Namrata
Vankudre, Line Producer said, “It was a great experience working
with Kunal Kohli Productions / Yash Raj Films and while there is
no immediate project in the pipeline in which we are involved, we
are extremely positive on working on new projects for them in the
near future.”
Kunal
Kohli commented, “It has been wonderful working with 2nz. I'm sure
we'll do a lot more work, and I am very happy with the end result.”
TPTM
is the second project for Yash Raj Films in which 2nz has been involved,
after leading the animation voice direction for Hum Tum also
directed by Kunal Kohli.
2nz
is currently working on the 3D animation – live action film Toonpur
Ka Superhero.
