AAG in tie up for Game Development Course

In
the quest to acquire trained manpower meeting the industry standards,
Delhi based Lakshya Digital, has tied up with Academy of Animation
and Gaming (AAG). The studio will work with AAG in creating Gaming
related courses and will also provide training and assistance to
AAG's gaming faculty.
This
tie up is a result of not only the elephantine growth of gaming
sector but also due to the lack of game art talent in India. A complete
new course on game art has been introduced in AAG, which will teach
students the intricacies of animation involved in gaming. Sharing
with AnimasstionXpress.com, Manvendra Shukul, CEO,
Lakshya Digital, said, "Even though gaming has a huge market
in India, game art is a talent it still lacks. It is because no
proper training is available for the same. Lakshya is growing big
time and we have requirement for people who can match our quality
bar. When we couldn't find the required candidates, we thought of
taking some initiative ourselves."

The
tie up was a result of the discussions that were going on between
AAG and Lakshya for past few months. Ajay Joshi, promoter of AAG,
said, “Our Aim has always been providing trained and talented candidates
who can serve the requirements of the animation sector. We have
been planning to collaborate with industrial sector for quite some
time as it would serve as an opportunity to understand the demands
of the sector. Lakshya is one of the pioneers of gaming animation
in India, so there would have been no better industry tie up we
could ask for. Both of us together have come up with a complete
curriculum for the new course of gaming. Even our faculty will undergo
additional training so they have complete knowledge of the new curriculum
we have brought in place."
Lakshya
will be keeping a close watch on the progress of the course. "From
time to time directors and other experts from Lakshya would go to
the Academy and see the developments in the course and vice versa,
i.e. to say the students from the Academy will also be coming to
our studio to see how exactly the process of game animation takes
place whenever required. We are also planning to have some short
internship programs," informed Shukul.
Elaborating
on the course Joshi said, "The course will be known as Game
Art and will have a duration of five months. We have not yet decided
on the fees but will only be selecting 25 students passing from
various colleges for the pilot batch."
After
all this training what will be the criterion of absorption in Lakshya
we ask, to which Shukul said, "Lakshya is known for its high
quality work, so we would definitely need people who would help
us maintain this reputation. We would carry out tests to check if
the candidates reach the notch of quality that we have set and if
they clear those tests they will definitely be a part of our company.
And if that doesn't happen I would consider that we have gone wrong
somewhere in our endeavor and it would be disheartening because
we have put a phenomenal effort."
