Children’s brand ACK Media which recently acquired Amar Chitra Katha
and Tinkle magazine, is running in its top gear with its expansions
and has recently acquired Bangalore based animation and gaming studio,
Quietmen Studios.
After
the acquisition, the studio will now be known as Katha Studios and
will develop products using new and old properties which will be
taken to various platforms including Theatrical, Broadcast, Online,
Print and Mobile amongst others.
Speaking
to AnimationXpress.com, ACK Media CEO Samir Patil
shared, “We have acquired a creative studio with a strong creative
team who will be closely involved in conceptualization, Visual Development
and Art direction of our IPs. For further development of the content,
we will look for tie-ups with animation production studios and gaming
companies, as per our requirement.”

Media already owns several pre developed IPs via its acquisition
of ACK and Tinkle including Shikari Shambhu, Kaliyaa the crow and
Tantri - The Mantri, to name a few.
On
being asked about the financial details and revenue expectations,
Patil refused to comment and said, “It is not a very big deal but
we want to keep our financial details confidential. We plan to take
our content to the next level and intend to invest USD 15 – 20 million
in the coming 2-3 years.”
