Rajshri
Media owned Rajshri.com, a video streaming and downloading portal
has recently added an animation section to its bouquet of live action
content.
The
animation content available on the portal comprises of Indian content
including Hitopadesh, Panchtantra, Ramayan, Mahabharat to name a
few. Speaking to AnimationXpress.com, Rajshri Media
(P) Limited MD Rajjat A. Barjatya shared, "As a platform, our
aim is to take Indian animation content to the global audience.
This is an endeavour to spread awareness about the Indian animation
industry while at the same time, giving exposure to Indian content."
The
video streaming for the film is is free of cost on the portal, while
there is a nominal charge for downloading. "The downloads available
are of two types, one is download with a limited validity and in
the second one, the consumers can own the download," added
Barjatya.

On
being asked about how the content is sourced to be made available
on the portal, Rajjat explained, "We source the content from
various content creators as well as the aggregators. Either we approach
the creator/aggregator or they can get in touch with us in order
to provide the content."
But
how does the content creator or provider benefit from this module?
Rajjat answers, "We work on the basis of licensing and there
is a revenue sharing module. When a film is downloaded we have a
share in revenue, whereas in the case of video streaming, the content
provider will avail a share from advertisements by the number of
visits he/she get on his/her content page, as Rajshri is an advertisement
based portal as well."
Rajshri.com
was launched in November '06 and the first film introduced on the
portal was their own production Vivaah starring Shahid Kappor
and Amirta Rao. The other content on the portal includes movies,
concerts, album, TV shows, amongst others.
