by Photographers' Guild of India (PGI) Exhibit 'A' a photographic
exhibition of personal images created by India’s foremost
advertising photographers is currently on at Kamala City Studio,
in Mumbai. The exhibit began on Feb 18 and shall go on till
the 27th of this month.
The
photographic series represents the soul of the artist, driven
purely by zeal and instinct and not by the rigid guidelines
of commercial/advertising photography.
The
exhibit is a unique initiative conceptualized with the intention
of showcasing "photography as a fine art form".
The effort is to promote photography and the sale of photographic
images. In the last six years, Exhibit 'A' has become an annual
fixture. The event attracts a large number of art-lovers,
the advertising fraternity, film personalities, models and
art enthusiasts across various age and socio-economic backgrounds.
Professional
members participating are - Atul Kasbekar, Ashok Salian, Israr
Qureshi, Suresh Natarajan, Jatin Kampani, Sharvini Patel,
Sameer Parekh, Ian Pereira, Nrupen Madhvani, Jagdish Mali,
Jignesh Jhaveri, Dilip Bhatia, Mahesh Hiremath, Madhur Shroff,
Prasad Naik, David D'souza and Adil Jain among others.
The exhibition has 40 professional photographers participating
in the show. Students and Photographers' assistants will also
display their work. In all there will be approximately 75
persons' works displayed.
