First
instituted by FICCI Frames in 2004, the Best Animated Frames
(BAF) Awards have introduced five new categories in VFX. The
development seems as a logical extension to the formation
of the FICCI VEC last year.
Speaking
to Animation 'xpress, FICCI Senior Assistant
Director Sumeet Gupta stated,"FICCI instituted the first
ever Animation Awards in this country, FICCI BAF ( Best Animated
FRAMES) Awards, in year 2004 in order to recognise the excellence
in Animation, Gaming and Visual Effects.
This year, we have increased the scale and magnitude of the
Awards and have 14 professional categories, 2 students categories
and Special Jury awards. In addition to Animation & Gaming,
we have also introduced Visual Effects and shall have 5 Awards
in that category"
The new VFX categories added this year include:-
Best VFX in a Motion Picture
Best VFX in a TV Episode
Best VFX in a Commercial
Best VFX in a Music Video
Best VFX Shot of the year
FICCI
Frames 2006 is to be held from March 22 to 24 2006 at the
Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. Besides the BAF Awards, the conference
at Frames will have a separate track dedicated to animation.
Animation
Sessions at this year's FRAMES include Vision India - Animation
Leaders speak, VFX in Hollywood Movies, Case Study in Animation
Co-production, Master Class in Script Writing for Animation,
IP in Animation: The Indian Way, Developing a valuable Gaming
Market in India and Master Class on Making of Animated Movie. |
