Ittina chooses Qube! for renderfarm management

A few months ago, Bangalore based Ittina Animation studios announced its production and creative involvement in the UK based Uli Meyer Studio's latest CG venture MonsterMania! Recently the studio has announced their installation of Qube! Render farm management systems in order to meet its increasing rendering needs.

The Qube! Solution is a product of Hawaii based Pipeline FX and according to its makers is highly customizable, extensively scalable, can be integrated into any production workflow, and is backed by 24 x 7 technical support.

Talking to Animation Xpress.com about Qube! as their choice, Ittina Studios CEO Manu Ittina, shared, "We reviewed a lot of software and tools for render management and the main reasons we selected Qube! over other solutions was for its robustness. The other major benefit we saw in Qube! over the competition was that it was very easy to set up and to get working. Our artists were able to submit and manage jobs within 30 minutes of starting Qube!. There really were no unnecessarily complex steps required; Qube!'s highly intuitive design allows our artists to focus their time on being creative."

With a team of about 120 employees, Ittina Studios is gearing up for producing numerous visual effects and animation projects, with its key core team having previously worked on Hollywood projects like The X-men, The Majestic, Madagascar are to name a few.

"We tested Qube! in many circumstances and we were happy to discover that it was very stable. With Qube! we were also able to avoid dealing with lots of machine configurations that are often involved with open source solutions. It provides us with an API and a scripting language that helps our technical team optimize and automate it for our pipeline. Qube!'s technical support team is very responsive and they mean it when they say 24 x 7 x 365" Manu further added.

Pipeline FX CEO Troy Brooks pointed out that, with Indian animation studios upping the ante, a lot of International middleware and hi end software companies were sharpening their India focus. "PipelineFX is excited to partner with an animation technology leader like Ittina Animation Studios. Manu's commitment to using leading technologies has positioned Ittina Animation Studios to be a serious player in the exploding Indian animation market"
