Talk
about numbers!
Yes
Gaming may not yet have got into Indian culture the way it
has in other parts of the world, but recently, be it the World
Cyber Games or RAGE Expo or the upcoming SKOAR 2005 (which
kickstarts tomorrow at the MMRDA grounds at Mumbai's Bandra
Kurla complex) the participation and enthusiasm amongst
the gaming community is an early indication that Gaming is
going to get real big in India.
Organised
by leading technology and computing publisher Jasubhai Digital
Media, Skoar 2005 a flagship event of JDM's Skoar Magazine
is expecting around 30 to 40,000 gamer footfalls in a span
of two days.
Speaking
to Animation 'xpress, Jasubhai Digital Media
CEO Maulik Jasubhai stated,"SKOAR! Magazine is easily
the hottest of JDM’s media properties and has taken pole position
amongst the emerging gaming community in India. SKOAR! 2005
is our attempt to popularise gaming, giving an opportunity
to the thousands of consumers who have been fascinated by
games, but haven't experienced high-end gaming”
The two day event promises to be a gaming feast for enthusiasts
with all kinds of gaming zones being set up such as PC Gaming,
PS2 Zone, Casual Gaming, Coin Operated Arcades, Laptop Gaming,
Handheld Gaming, Big Screen Gaming and above all a LAN Gaming
party.
All
major Indian Game Developers and a good number of International
publishers are exhibiting at the EXPO.
