Nazara
Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has launched a series of 3D BREW games, based
on the vastly popular Archie Comics. The titles include Dilton's
Circuit, Dilton's Crazy Atoms, Archie Paperboy, Archie 3D Racer
and Kickshot Pool. Besides the launch of these games, the Archie's
Mobile Comics will also be available now on many lower tier devices
like the LG 5235.
Nazara
made the announcement at the recently held Brew Developers Conference
(India) 2005 at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.
Speaking
to Animation 'xpress, Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara
technologies said, "We are strongly focussed on developing
compelling applications for the mobile user and see tremendous potential
in BREW mobile 3D games." He went on, "We are well on
our way to becoming one of India's largest BREW developers."
Nazaara
has based its strategy on acquiring licenses to strong brands and
building Mobile content and application around them. Amongst the
brands that the company has acquired licenses (for mobile) include
Archies Comics, Sachin Tendulkar, MiraMax Movies, Brett Lee, Dara
Singh and Stardust.
"The
Sachin games launched on Airtel a month and a half ago and are averaging
about 15,000 downloads a day" said Nazara Business Dev Manager
Abhijeet Kamdar.
"The
recent spate of announcement in India around hi-end, hi bandwidth
consuming mobile games and applications is indicative of the forthcoming
transition to 3G from 2.5G which is expected to happen over the
next 18 months" he added.
