MAAC (Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics)in association with PIXAR's
Renderman is organizing a free seminar for students and professionals,
seeking a career in the animation industry. The seminar is to be
held on 13 October at Bhaidas hall in Vile Parle (W), Mumbai between
11.00 am and 1.00 pm.
Experts from PIXAR Renderman studios slated to speak at the seminar
include Business Director Chris Ford, Technical Artist Dylan Sisson,
and Senior Technical Director Apoorva Shah.
"Various end user segments such as TV programmes, TV commercials,
games, online education, CAD/CAE applications apart from feature
films are slowly increasing the usage of animation in their work.
But professionals who can handle animation and multimedia software
like Maya, 3D Studio Max and Adobe After Effects are in shortage"
pointed out MEL CEO Rajesh Turakhia
"This despite the fact that the cost of animation production
in India is the lowest compared to destinations like Canada, Korea,
Taiwan and Philippines. "The cost of production of a half an
hour animated programme in the US is around $250,000-$400,000. In
Korea and Taiwan it is around $110,000-$120,000 while in India it
would be $60,000" he added.
"This Seminar will provide a chance to the students to look
at the World's foremost rendering technology" concluded Turakhia.
Being educational in nature the event is also supported whole heartedly
by TASI (The Animation Society of India).
