Come October 4 and Walt Disney's original beloved classic, Cinderella will be available on DVD for the first time ever after having been unavailable in any form for almost 10 years.

Indian audiences will have the opportunity of having Cinderella on home video for the first time. The Indian edition is published by Excel Home Video and the Cinderella DVD shall be launched simultaneously along with the International release.

Speaking to Animation 'xpress EXCEL MD Muslim Kapasi commented,"Since Disney HE inception in the country, this is the first Princess title from Disney's Platinum Vault to release on DVD in India, and I am sure Father's (like myself) will be delighted to finally get to take this Cinderella DVD home for their little Princess!"

" The product shall be available in two SKUs viz. DVD and VCD, retail price at Rs.599 and Rs.299 respectively. The DVD release in India on 04-Oct-05 is along with the world and the VCD releases a week later on 11-Oct-05.Bonus features would include "The House of Royalty", "The Royal Life (DVD-Rom)", Deleted Scenes, Music & More and Backstage Disney" he added.

Cinderella is one of the all time classic movies across genres and has inspired many an award winning Indian animator to take up animation.

An article in The Disneyland Report states that,"Nearly 10 years in the Disney vault, and not released theatrically since 1987, the twelfth feature film to come from The Walt Disney Company, CINDERELLA was produced by Walt Disney himself, and is one of only three films to have utilized the skills of every member of the formidable group of key animators that have been affectionately dubbed his "nine old men"
