Nurturing a passion for theater from an early
age, Manu Ittina's first amateur production
was at the age of 14. He completed his education
from Sri Aurobindo Memorial School and St. Joseph's
College, Bangalore.
Choosing
a career in visual arts he was trained at the
prestigious School of Visual Arts, New York.
His summer terms were spent studying at the
Sheridan College, Canada and the Academy of
Art College, San Francisco. In his tenure as
a student he specialized in drawing and illustration
and then spent 2 years studying computer animation.
He trained to be an animator and a filmmaker.
Working part time as a student, he managed to
do quite a bit of special effects work for the
movies X-men, Majestic, Louis and Clark etc.
After
college he began a full time career as a character
animator at the prestigious Dream Works Studios.
Here he worked on memorable Hollywood blockbusters
such as Shrek 2 and Madagascar, which marked
his 5 years venture with Hollywood.
A voracious reader and an artist, Manu is today
one of the very few character animators who
have worked in full length Hollywood blockbuster
films. Manu is the oldest son of Ittina Mahabaleswarappa
the real estate magnate of Bangalore.
