Autodesk Game Industry Icons 7 city tour comes to Mumbai on 22
The Mumbai leg is scheduled for 22 August at Grand Sangam Ballroom, Hotel JW Marriot between 2-5 pm.
The line up includes
Dr. Michael Capps, President of Epic Games will be on hand to present the pipeline benefits of Unreal® Engine 3. Also Diarmid Clarke, Senior External Producer at BioWare will provide an inside look at the making of mega-hit Jade Empire.

Michel Kripalani, Games Industry Manager from Autodesk will provide an overview of the use of 3ds Max in game studios worldwide.
 
Simi's In the Air selected for Leipzig
Ashu & Dhruv's music video
"In the Air" the animation direction for which was done by Simi Nallaseth has been selected for the International Panorama of the 48th International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film to be held from the 3rd to 9th October 2005 in Germany.

The video features a susbtantial amount of post animation

Toon Boom Wins a Primetime Emmy® Engineering Award
Toon Boom Animation recently announced that the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has granted a 2005 Primetime Emmy® Engineering Award to USAnimation Opus.


"We are extremely proud to receive this award and are grateful to the Academy for recognizing the great contribution USAnimation Opus has made to the animation industry targeted for television. Since our vector technology extensively developed in Opus has been deployed to our entire family of products, this Emmy award applies to all of them", shared Joan Vogelesang, President and Chief Executive Officer at Toon Boom.
 
HP Technology Brings Animal Magic to Madagascar

HP xw8000 Workstations provided Madagascar's digital artists with state-of-the-art dual processors and the fastest available memory. This allowed animators to see more visual detail interactively on their desktops, and enabled DreamWorks to scale the complexity of crowd scenes, from the humans in the zoo to the furry lemurs in the jungle.

HP technology also helped animators meet the daunting challenge of creating dense jungle scenes. In one computational complex scene, there were more than 900 furry, dancing lemurs.

 
Apple Introduces Mighty Mouse

Mighty Mouse offers power users up to four independently programmable buttons, without compromising simplicity for users who prefer just a single-button mouse. Mighty Mouse also introduces an ingenious Scroll Ball that lets users scroll in any direction-vertically, horizontally and even diagonally. With the Scroll Ball, users can scroll with natural, fluid movements, making Mighty Mouse perfect for applications from viewing web pages and photographs, to video editing and music creation.
